Design Trends We're Loving for 2022

A New Year Brings new design opportunities, and we’re excited to share a few design trends for 2022 that are close to our design hearts. So many trends come and go, but we’re always on the lookout for staple trends that are long-lasting and always make the biggest impact when designing your home. Read on for an AHI insiders look to see what trends we’re focusing more on for 2022, as well as a few design inspiration photos to get your creative wheels turning...

What design trends are we loving this season? See below!

1. NATURAL MATERIALS

We’re seeing more natural (and neutral!) materials in the design world this year, and we are on board for this! As you might already know, quality natural materials are an integral part of our storefront. Whether this is a piece of furniture, light fixture, decor or textile, natural materials soften a home’s colour palette creating a light, airy and relaxing space.

THE CALVIN DINING CHAIR

Our newest dining chair, The Calvin, is made from entirely solid mango wood (on trend!). It’s sturdy wooden construction is durable and built to last a lifetime. Incorporate more natural materials in your dining space while embodying the mid-century modern & Scandinavian design elements.

THE ALIX CHAIN

Not only are we seeing more natural materials used in furniture, but also in accent decor, as seen here in the Alix Chain - handmade wooden chain, made from Mango Wood.

THE OLIVIA BASKETS

Multi-functional and stylish, we love baskets of all kinds at AHI but especially when they’re woven using seagrass materials. The Olivia Baskets are the perfect way to incorporate more organic textures to your home (and keep toys hidden in the living room!).

2.  BIG PROPORTIONS

The exaggerated proportions trend has been on the rise for a while now, but this year we are seeing bigger and more impactful pieces. Using these big proportions allows you to play with scale in your home, and always adds interest. We’re seeing much of this trend in table lamps, pendants and vases.

THE TEAR DROP TABLE LAMP

The Tear-Drop Table Lamp’s smooth, shiny finish will fit beautifully into living spaces, bedrooms and definitely front-entrance ways (specifically styled on a console - as seen above!). Measuring 33” H, it’s oversized shape will draw eyes and add so much more to a simple corner of your home.

THE CRACKLED VASE

Measuring 14” tall, The Crackled Vase not only brings height and dimension, but also an earthy textured appeal adding so many more design points! This vase is guaranteed to make a statement in an effortless way.

THE GOBI VASES

Measuring 23” and 28” tall, The Gobi Vases are the perfect example of exaggerated proportion decor! These Ceramic Vases feature a rounded body with a wide-chipped away opening. They are a simple way to dress up the corners of your home (indoors or outdoors) with height, colour and texture!
