- Choose your colour palette
Throw pillows are a great way to introduce new colour tones and textures to the surrounding space, but we always recommend opting for colours that tend to blend naturally with your existing furniture and paint. See below a great selection of neutral tones, featuring our Thais Lumbar Pillow.
- Combine different sizes on a couch to create a layered look
When it comes to layering pillows on a couch or bed setting, we recommend starting with your bigger pillows and moving smaller towards the centre. See our specific size guide and inspiration photos below!
- 22-24 inch & 20-22 inch on the sides
- 22-24 inch & 20-22 inch on the sides (with an added lumbar in the corner)
- Two 24-26 inch pillows with a lumbar
- Extra layered: Two 24-26 inch, two 20-22 inch and a lumbar
- Style solids and prints together
This is when you can bring your creativity to light and opt for something less traditional. We love the combination of solids and prints. Depending on the colour of your couch and surrounding area, you can usually get away with bringing in new colour tones, adding extra interest and creating an overall “homey” feel to your comfy nook!
- Add in texture with tassels or woven materials
Texture is key when it comes to throw pillow layering. If you are going for more of a neutral look, we always recommend adding a woven or tassel pillow to provide more dimension and interest! Extra style points!
We hope we’ve provided you with design inspiration to elevate the coziest areas of your home! Our storefront is open for in-person shopping. See you soon!
